Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an anamorphic lens?

An anamorphic lens creates a widescreen cinematic look by compressing the horizontal field of view during recording, which is then de-compressed during playback. This results in a wider aspect ratio and characteristic horizontal lens flares.

How do I attach this APEXEL lens to my smartphone?

The APEXEL 1.33x anamorphic lens has a 52mm caliber. It typically requires a compatible smartphone case or a universal mounting clip (often sold separately or included with specific kits) to securely attach to your device.

What is the purpose of the CPL filter?

The included Circular Polarizer (CPL) filter helps to reduce reflections and glare from surfaces like water or glass. It also enhances color saturation, making skies appear bluer and foliage greener for more vibrant video footage.

Can this lens be used for regular video recording, not just widescreen?

Yes, while designed for anamorphic widescreen, the lens can be used for standard video recording. However, to achieve the intended widescreen effect and aspect ratio, the footage will need to be de-squeezed in post-production editing software.
